The November Dark Monday at Kulturcafe Merlin will feature an exciting new play by Stuttgart-based author Michael Hilton.
How do we manage to keep going when it feels as though the odds are against us? How can we forgive those who have hurt us so badly? Why do we do the things we do for the people we love and can’t live without? These are some of the questions raised in “Light Below Us” by Michael Hilton, the first of a trilogy called The River Plays about life on the Jersey Shore in the early years of the 21st century. Written in the tradition of poetic naturalism in American drama and aspiring to the guitar riffs of hometown heroes such as Bruce Springsteen and The Gaslight Anthem, “Light Below Us” is a community saga filled with humor and tenderness about some of the most pressing questions of our times.
