New York City’s Greenwich Village neighborhood is known for being the epicenter of American bohemian culture. The district has been inspiring artists for almost a century. In February musicians Erica Applezweig and Michael Hecht will bring the Folk and Blues music from the early sixties to Stuttgart. Being an eye witness of that historic era Applezweig is able to tell fascinating stories of the colorful and artistic residents of New York’s bohemian culture.
The early 1960s saw a resurgence of interest in authentic Folk and Blues music. Like minded musicians from all over the country gathered in Washington Square and the Greenwich Village coffee houses to play roots music on acoustic instruments. A wide spread interest in this handmade music arose that made house hold names of musicians such as Bob Dylan or Joan Baez.

Saturday, February 27th at 8 PM at Dreigroschentheater in Stuttgart.
