Charles C. Urban

Originally from Chicago, Illinois, CHARLES C. URBAN founded New English American Theatre (NEAT) in 1991 in Stuttgart. He initiated the Dark Monday series at MERLIN Kulturzentrum in 2013 and the Thursday @ TAO series at Theater Am Olgaeck in 2015. His many directing credits include plays by Woody Allen, Tennessee Williams, Samuel Beckett, Edward Albee, Stephen King, Willy Russell, Mark Twain and Christopher Durang. As an actor he has appeared in numerous Shakespeare plays, musicals, and children’s theatre. Charles appears regularly in radio, TV and film projects and particularly enjoys Studio Voice Over work. According to the “Who is Who der Schwabenmetropole” Charles is “Synonymous with English language theatre in Stuttgart.”
Susanna Thielecke

SUSANNA THIELECKE joined Neat in 2003, having previously worked as an actress and make-up artist for groups in Regensburg and Trier. Her creative work with NEAT includes directing George Bernard Shaw’s O’FLAHERTY V.C. and Tom Stoppard’s IN THE NATIVE STATE and acting in Edward Albee’s AT HOME. She has been involved in all of NEAT’s pantos to date, as an actress, (co-)director and, in the case of ONE GENIE TOO MANY, scriptwriter. She is also NEAT’s treasurer.

David has a penchant for bringing Hollywood films to the stage; both as Radio Plays and properly staged performances. He directed and produced IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE, CASABLANA and his own adaptation of THE AFRICAN QUEEN; for all of which he designed and constructed elaborate sets.
David also initiated and directed the highly popular ONE PAGE PLAY FESTIVAL.
