Musician Erica Applezweig<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

New York City’s Greenwich Village neighborhood is known for being the epicenter of American bohemian culture. The district has been inspiring artists\u00a0for almost a century. In February musicians\u00a0Erica Applezweig and Michael Hecht will bring the Folk and Blues music from the early sixties to Stuttgart.\u00a0Being an eye witness of that historic era Applezweig is able to tell fascinating stories of the\u00a0colorful and artistic residents of New York’s bohemian culture.<\/p>\n

The early 1960s saw a resurgence of interest in authentic Folk and Blues music. Like minded musicians from all over the country gathered in Washington Square and the Greenwich Village coffee houses to play roots music on acoustic instruments. A\u00a0wide spread interest in this handmade music arose that made house hold names of musicians such as Bob Dylan or Joan Baez.<\/p>\n
