\"TVM_DINA3_2\"This February New English American Theater (Neat) will present Eve Ensler’s\u00a0THE VAGINA MONOLOGUES <\/strong>at various venues throughout Stuttgart.\u00a0<\/strong>The purpose of these so called V-Day<\/strong> events is to raise awareness about violence against women and girls as well as raise money for local beneficiaries that are working to end violence.<\/p>\n

The Vagina Monologues\u00a0introduces a wildly divergent gathering of female voices, including a six-year-old girl, an elderly\u00a0New Yorker, a vagina workshop participant, a woman who witnesses the birth of her granddaughter, a Bosnian survivor of rape, and a feminist happy to have found a man who “liked to look at it”.<\/p>\n

Neat will perform the award-winning-play\u00a0three times this year.\u00a0All proceeds will go to local organizations (see below) working to help women and end violence against women and girls.\u00a0V-Day<\/a> is a global activist movement to end violence against women and girls that raises funds and awareness through benefit productions of playwright and founder Eve Ensler\u2019s award winning play “The Vagina Monologues” and other artistic works.\u00a0The “V” in V-Day stands for Victory, Valentine and Vagina.<\/span><\/p>\n

Frauenberatung Fetz<\/a> (Fetz Women’s Counseling and Therapy Center) provides counseling and therapy \u201cfor women, from women.\u201d They strive to support women of all circumstances, and have an emphasis on victims of sexual assault and rape.\u00a0Frauen helfen Frauen<\/a>\u00a0(Women helping Women) provides both counseling and a shelter for women and children escaping violent or abusive situations.<\/p>\n
